Membership Committee
Purpose
The Membership Committee has responsibility for the following membership areas in the FDP:
- Receiving, evaluating and recommending requests for additional affiliate membership
- Encouraging increased federal participation and membership
- Facilitating the transition process for new FDP phases
- Updating and overseeing Executive Committee nomination/election procedures
- Supporting Emerging Research Institution (ERI) full participation in FDP activities
- Monitoring attendance and participation
- Assuring vendor participation complies with FDP policy

Federal Engagement Working Group
Federal engagement is essential to achieve the FDP mission. Enhancing engagement with current federal reps and illuminating potential new partners is key to achieving that aim. To that end, developing coordinated, strategic guidance and processes will ensure a focused and organizationally mature effort.
Phase 1 Goals (Complete)
- Develop guidance to identify appropriate and effective engagement for individuals within an agency
- Develop guidance for strategic federal recruitment
- Develop process to on-board federal participants
Phase 2 Goals
- Create and implement a liaison program
- Invite new agencies to engage with the FDP
- Provide materials and guidance for the federal agency updates
